The Birthplace
of English Wine
of English Wine
In 1952, Major Guy Salisbury-Jones planted vines on the South Downs chalk and created England's first commercial vineyard. Over seventy years on, the same chalk terroir and the same pioneering spirit are in every bottle.
Globally recognised for the outstanding quality, balance and character of our sparkling wines. 70 years of existence brings perspective, knowledge and experience.
Set inside the South Downs National Park, Hambledon's cellar door and restaurant opened in 2025. Come for a guided vineyard tour, stay for lunch, or book the private dining room. An easy day from London, Winchester or across the South East.
