Hampshire Wine Weekend September 2016

The Events Team at Hambledon Vineyard are offering you the chance to attend a unique and luxurious weekend, capturing the very best of what Hampshire has to offer. Let us guide you around the glorious green English countryside, stopping off at five beautiful local vineyards to fully immerse yourself in the culture of English Sparkling Wines, and of course incorporating plenty of lavish eating and drinking along the way!
You will be staying at a gorgeous boutique hotel just outside of Winchester for two nights (Friday and Saturday). It’s a wonderful chance to be thoroughly treated to a weekend of wine tasting, delicious cuisine and the rare opportunity to get a VIP look inside Hampshire’s finest Vineyards. With all travel for the weekend included, you can completely relax - safe in the knowledge that all is taken care of.
You’ll first begin your experience on the Friday afternoon at our own vineyard, Hambledon, with canapes, dinner, drinks and a sparkling wine workshop, in which you will create your own bespoke bottle of Classic Cuvée, to your specific taste requirements.
After indulging in a scrumptious Saturday breakfast the following day, Danebury is the first stop for a tour, tasting and light lunch, to be enjoyed whilst soaking up the stunning Hampshire countryside views. Danebury Vineyard is a family owned boutique vineyard nestled on the chalk slopes of Hampshire, with a tradition of producing award winning English sparkling and still white wine. Usually closed to the public, Danebury is opening its doors for one day only - exclusively for the Hampshire Wines trip!
Next, you will be escorted to Cottonworth Vineyard for a tour and tasting with Hugh Liddel, the Vineyard’s owner and manager, who is wholeheartedly passionate about making excellent wines.
Dinner that evening, at the wonderful Marwell hotel, will be an exquisite 7 course meal (see menu below) accompanied by a range of local wines. A perfect chance to unwind and indulge, whilst reflecting on the day’s activities.
Your relaxed Sunday will wind down to a slower pace, with a tour and tasting at the peaceful Hattingley Valley, followed by a cosying up with a traditional Sunday roast at the sleepy town of Lower Wield. The weekend will then conclude with a tour of Jenkyn Place, and a final tasting, before guests will begin to depart home.
